Superpowered Love 3: Nobody's Hero
Jamie Monday lives in two different worlds. With his family, he's the golden child of awakened superpowered society. He's meant to do great things and pass on his powers—with the appropriate girl, hand-picked by his mother. He's already failed at the first, so he can't bring himself to tell her the wife and children aren't happening either.
With his friends, he's the social director and life of the party. He's also an out gay man with an appetite for quick and easy lays. It's tough to have a relationship when you're hiding off-the-charts electrical powers, but Jamie doesn't mind.
Not until the prickly, paddy rocking, geeky-hot new guy at work shows him what he's been missing. Kellan's singular combination of dirty mouth and pure soul makes Jamie spark right from the beginning. But if he's going to overcome Kelly's defensive front and reach the gentle heart inside, Jamie will first have to come to terms with his own divided lives.

Last year, twenty-three-year-old actress Dina Gilbert snagged the lead in the summer’s biggest blockbuster. It wasn’t easy: she’s black, openly queer, and has actual curves she refuses to let people Photoshop. Now, overwhelmed by sudden fame and homesick for Georgia, she’s becoming someone she doesn’t recognize. Maybe that’s why she’s out partying her face off most nights.
Enter Colleen Thomas, an ex-model turned photo editor whose issues with her own body are only surpassed by her issues with other peoples’. Colleen knows the rules but Photoshops Dina’s magazine cover anyway, incurring the wrath of Dina and her fans. And, okay, maybe that cover image was unbelievably sexy even before Colleen’s alterations. So what? Dina’s not fooling anyone with that girl-next-door, I-eat-Snickers-in-my-Golden-Globes-dress BS. Colleen knows a train wreck when she sees one.
Tensions rise even more when Colleen and Dina have to work together at the Rose Social Club’s annual charity gala. When they realize they have something in common, no one is more surprised than they are. The sexual chemistry doesn’t hurt either. Their differences could either be a source of strength—a life raft in the heaving waters of Hollywood—or the makings of a titanic crash.
I tend to flit between writing fluffier things and heavier things, and y'all, this is the latter. Warnings for body-shaming, eating disorders, racism, microaggressions, drug use (cocaine, marijuana), excessive drinking, on page sex, and wyvern dildos.
... >.> Okay, it's not ALL serious, only mostly.
These girls have some issues, but maybe they can help each other become something more? Love does that sometimes.

Alchemiya is back! + Update~

When I began plotting the second book to take place in the fantasy country of Chrysopoeia a few weeks ago, I realized I'd better work on getting the first book, Alchemiya, up and running again! Since Loose Id closed earlier in the year it's been languishing on my hard drive! But now it's back and better than ever, with a new edition. If you own the first edition, don't worry, it's only cosmetic changes to the text in this new one, so you're good to go. If you don't, hey, now's a great time for some cute fantasy/regency "marriage of convenience" wlw fun!
Eugenia was born to privilege in the Ratna clan, nobility famed for their alchemical jewel production. Eugenia’s a talented alchemist herself—but the patriarchy insists her less able brother is the heir to the family secrets and property. As if that weren’t insult enough, an accidentally public tryst with another woman means Genie is shunned by polite society altogether.
Enter the gorgeous Lord Oliver Plumtree, scion of one of the oldest alchemical families in Chrysopoeia and master of the foreboding Waldgrave Abbey. But Lord Oliver is actually Olivia, and on the lookout for a wife—one who requires an escape from the same crushing social mores that have forced Olivia to masquerade as her own long-dead brother to keep her family’s estate intact.
Genie and Liv seem a perfect match from the get-go, and things heat up quickly between them. But before they can carry off their marriage of convenience, Waldgrave Abbey reveals more secrets. Jealous Plumtree relatives and Liv’s association with the Secret Society of Alchemiya, rumored to be a dark and sinister arm of the patriarchy, might just ruin Genie and Liv’s chance at their unlikely happily ever after.
Ever since Alchemiya first appeared, I've known there would be at least two books, if not three. The second book will return to familiar characters--it's told by Charlotte "Cherry" Plumtree, Liv's younger sister, in fact. I can't wait to make it happen, so I'm super glad Alchemiya is back!

As far as wlw romance goes, Touch Up, is in some ways the opposite of Alchemiya. It's intense, with deeply flawed characters and real world, immediate issues tearing that the relationship. I'm super proud of it and the work J.A. Rock and I did on it, so check it out if that's your cup of tea!
Warnings for body issues, eating disorders, racism, drug use, body shaming, sexism... the stuff you'd expect from Hollywood, but it comes out right in the end.
